"E" Division is the British Columbia division of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. It is the largest police body operating in the province, providing federal, provincial, and municipal policing services. “E” Division has a strength of 5,900 sworn members and employs 1,700 civilian members and public service employees. In addition, approximately 1,200 Auxiliary Constables volunteer with “E” Division. It is the largest RCMP division, operating out of 127 local detachments with its headquarters at 657 West 37th Avenue in Vancouver. It polices all but 12 municipalities in the province. The RCMP “E” Division Headquarters Relocation Project is a major Crown initiative to relocate and consolidate existing RCMP headquarters units throughout the Metro Vancouver to a new site in the City of Surrey known as the Green Timbers Site.

The "E" Division is headed by Assistant Commissioner Craig Callens.[3]

Recent developments

"E" Division has been the centre of attention with the media over the last few years due to the death of Robert Dziekański and how four of its members are appealing a court ruling giving the Braidwood Inquiry jurisdiction in assigning misconduct against the RCMP.
